After a suffering a summer storm, a lone traveler arrives with his boat to a lost island that doesn't appear in the maps. In the island there is only a small inn runned by a woman and her son, a lighthouse that doesn't work and a pier with a wall full of messages written by travelers. Later he meets an evasive young woman who is also passing through the island, waiting for someone...
The island is an allegory of incommunication and the loneliness it causes.
