Death comes to all men in time. When he came to Mort, he offered him a job. And so Mort becomes Death's apprentice, taking a career path he could never have anticipated, especially when Death decides to take a holiday, leaving Mort stuck with Death's job, Death's grump manservant Albert, Death's psychopathic adopted daughter Ysabell, and in way over his head!
