"Marvel Action Hour: The Fantastic Four  " (1994-1996) was an animated television series, lasting for two seasons. The first season  " consisted of fairly accurate re-tellings and intelligent re-interpretations" of various Stan Lee and Jack Kirby storylines from the 1960s. The second season addedv material from John Byrne storylines from the 1980s.

This volume consists is a spin-off of the television series and features its own version of the characters.
