A prince from Saturn, Jemm escapes a war to reach Earth and befriend an inner-city boy--but his past is not far behind him. Originally conceived as the Martian Manhunter's cousin when, for a while, the Martian Manhunter had been absent in the pages of DC Comics. When the Manhunter was about to return to the Justice League comic, Jemm was reworked as being from Saturn and belonging to a race created by the Martians long ago.
